International Cello Competition 2024
The Dean of the Music and Dance Faculty announces the International Cello Competition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava.
held on September 6 – 12, 2024
The main goal of the International Cello Competition is to look for and support young talents from all around the world.
Categories
- Category I – up to the age of 21 / two rounds (participants born after September 13, 2002)
- Category II – up to the age of 30 / three rounds (participants born after September 13, 1993)
Venue
CONCERT HALL DVORANA at the Faculty of Music and Dance.
Round 3 takes place in the SLOVAK RADIO LARGE CONCERT HALL with Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Prizes
- Category I: 1st Prize 1.500€ , 2nd Prize 1.000€, 3rd Prize 500€
- Category II: 1st Prize 3.000€, 2nd Prize 2.000€, 3rd Prize 1.000€
- Special prize for the best interpretation of the mandatory Slovak piece

From the Sonata for Cello and Piano in E major by François Francœur, only the first two movements are required: I. Adagio cantabile, II. Allegro vivo.
